- Hours per Week: 40 (full-time)
- Shift: Day shifts, 8-hour shifts (varied start times between 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Weekend Coverage: Alternating weekends required
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,780 - $1,870 per week
Qualifications & Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida or compact state (Home Health RN)
- Minimum 1 year of recent home health experience (skilled home care required; private duty only experience not accepted)
- OASIS training and hands-on experience required
- Infusion experience required; demonstrated IV skills and PICC/Midline care
- Wound care experience, including wound vac and compression dressing
- Experience managing general medical and high-risk diagnoses (HF, COPD, MI, Pneumonia, Stroke, post-op care)
- BCLS certification required
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required for home visits
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation)
- Flu vaccination or documented declination (mask required if declined)
- Recent direct patient care within the last 3 months
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Applicants must live at least 100 miles from the facility in Tampa, FL, in accordance with the 100-mile radius rule for BayCare travel positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in their homes as a Home Health RN/Travel RN
- Perform cardiopulmonary assessments, basic and advanced wound care, ABI compression dressing, wound vac dressing, and Pleurx/Asept drain care
- Manage foley catheter changes, staple/suture removal, and point-of-care testing using glucometer and pro-time machine
- Administer SQ/IM injections, perform lab draws/venipuncture, and provide IV therapy including PICC line/Midline care and dressing changes
- Access and de-access subcutaneous ports when required
- Complete 6–8 home health visits per day with self-scheduling of visits and hours based on office needs
- Document care accurately using approved documentation systems and OASIS documentation as required
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including Physical Therapy, Social Services, Pharmacy, and Interpretation Services
- Participate in orientation, mandatory trainings, and continuing education to maintain clinical competencies
