Join a welcoming, high-acuity 19-bed Labor & Delivery unit in beautiful Fort Myers on Florida’s Gulf Coast. This travel nursing assignment offers hands-on obstetric nursing experience, collaboration with multidisciplinary perinatal teams, and the chance to provide exceptional maternal-newborn care in a fast-paced environment.
Travel Nursing Details
- Location: Fort Myers, FL 33908 — Southwest Florida, Gulf Coast
- Setting: 19-bed Labor & Delivery Unit (high-acuity L&D)
- Assignment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel Nursing
- Duration: 13 weeks (March 27, 2026 to June 27, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 3 shifts per week — night shift travel nurse
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Call Requirement: 12 hours per 6-week scheduling period
- EMR: Epic experience preferred
- Scrub Color: Galaxy Blue and/or White
L&D Travel Nurse Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (maternal-newborn, obstetric nursing)
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for practice
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course completed and passed (required)
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring and EFM certification preferred
- Ability to manage high-acuity patients and complex perinatal situations
- Degree accreditation must be on profile, or 5 years of experience required
- Willingness to float to sister campuses as needed
- All requested time off must be submitted at application
- Radius rule: must live at least 50 miles from facility
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to laboring mothers and newborns in a high-acuity L&D unit
- Monitor fetal well-being using advanced fetal monitoring techniques and AWHONN best practices
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, neonatologists, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Document care accurately and timely in Epic EMR
- Respond to emergent situations, support C-sections and high-risk deliveries as needed
- Float to other units or sister campuses as required and participate in on-call rotation
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive unit culture and function as core staff when on assignment
