• Position: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) / Psych RN (Travel Nurse)
• Location: Methuen, MA 01844 — inpatient psychiatric nursing job in Massachusetts
• Setting: HFM Psych Unit St. Michaels (Unit B2, 22 beds, current census: 12)
• Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse opportunity)
• Start Date: March 25, 2026
• End Date: June 23, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 8-hour evening shifts (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 32 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,100 - $2,210 per week

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required (Massachusetts RN license or multistate compact RN license eligible)
• Minimum 3 years of psychiatric nursing experience required — inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health experience preferred
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary mental health team (physicians, therapists, social workers)
• Familiarity with psychiatric assessments, medication administration, and documentation best practices
• Preferred: BLS/CPR certification (AHA) and Psychiatric-Mental Health certification (PMH-BC) — encouraged but not required

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to individuals with psychiatric and behavioral health needs on an inpatient psych unit
• Administer psychotropic and other medications, monitor patient responses, and report adverse reactions
• Perform mental health assessments, monitor safety/risk, and implement individualized care plans
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated behavioral health care
• Document patient progress, maintain accurate medical records, and complete required clinical charting
• Support and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors
• Participate in patient and family education, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary rounds
