- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:30am, 30-minute unpaid break) — Night Shift ICU RN
- Hours per Week: 36
- Schedule: Every other weekend required; holidays as needed; no call
- Floating: Required to float to Stepdown (IMC) and Med-Surg units as needed
- Unit: 36 beds (24 ICU, 12 IMC/Stepdown)
- Patient Population: Adults (18+)
- EMR: Cerner (Cerner EMR experience preferred)
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active NYS Registered Nurse license required (can screen without, but license must be active before start)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in ICU / critical care
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or American Red Cross; may obtain prior to start)
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred but not required
- Ability to float to Stepdown and Med-Surg units within competency
- Compliance documentation due 7 days prior to start date
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult patients in a 36-bed ICU/IMC setting
- Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, and post-surgical care (including vascular, thoracic, and cardiac surgery patients)
- Perform assessments, administer medications, titrate drips, and manage complex ICU interventions per unit protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rehab) to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to Stepdown and Med-Surg units as needed and provide competent care across levels of acuity
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR
- Adhere to facility policies, infection control standards, and dress code; participate in bi-weekly orientation sessions as scheduled
