• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) — Night shift nursing job

Job Requirements

• Minimum 18 months of recent Pediatric Stepdown experience (permanent or travel) — pediatric nurse or cardiac step-down RN experience required.
• Active, permanent Ohio RN license or Compact State license in hand at time of submission (Ohio RN or Compact RN).
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from AHA or American Red Cross (must be active).
• EKG/ECG rhythm recognition and inotrope administration experience required.
• One supervisory reference (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director) in the specialty required.
• Must pass ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate assessment during orientation.
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered).
• NIHHS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized cardiac stepdown care to pediatric and adolescent patients (up to age 25) in a pediatric stepdown setting.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret ECG/EKG strips, and administer/titrate inotropes as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — physicians, cardiology, respiratory therapy, and ancillary staff — to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in unit orientation and complete required competency assessments, including ECG and medication safety evaluations.
• Work every other holiday as required by the unit schedule.
