Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse in Salem, MA — 13-week travel nursing assignment starting April 19, 2026. Seeking experienced maternity nurses and perinatal RNs with strong Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and newborn care skills to join a modern hospital on the North Shore with easy access to Boston.

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2130 - $2250/week
• Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights) with every other weekend and one night of call
• Unit Details: 25-bed unit including L&D, Postpartum, Newborn, 2 ORs, 2 Recovery Rooms, and 2 Antepartum rooms
• Patient Ratio: L&D 1:2-3 (evaluations), 1:1 (active labor, magnesium gtt, or epidural); Postpartum 1:3-4
• EMR: EPIC (experience with EPIC EMR preferred)

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience (inpatient L&D, perinatal nursing)
• Current, unencumbered Massachusetts RN license (Salem, MA / Massachusetts nursing jobs)
• Certifications: BLS, NRP, EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring); AHA ACLS preferred
• Proficiency in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Circulating, and Newborn Care
• Experience with cesarean section support and circulating in the OR
• Strong communication, patient education, and teamwork skills
• Ability to rotate between day, evening, and night shifts as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum phases
• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being using EFM, assess labor progression, and intervene per unit protocols
• Administer medications, manage epidural and magnesium drips, and titrate infusions safely
• Circulate and assist in the operating room for cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Perform newborn assessments, initial stabilization, and coordinate newborn care with nursery staff
• Document patient care accurately and timely using EPIC EMR
• Educate and support patients and families during the childbirth experience, including discharge teaching and breastfeeding support
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (OB/GYN, anesthesia, pediatrics) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in rotating shifts, including every other weekend and one night of call
