Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in Ohio (compact license accepted only if valid in Ohio)
- Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience
- BLS certification (AHA)
- Experience with transplant and/or bariatric surgery patients preferred (transplant nurse or bariatric surgery nurse experience a plus)
- Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend/holiday
- Completion of required onboarding health screenings and background checks
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to pre-op and post-op solid organ transplant and bariatric surgery patients, as well as general med/surg patients
- Assess and monitor patient status, administer medications, and implement treatment plans
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including surgeons, transplant coordinators, pharmacists, and case managers
- Accurate and timely documentation of patient care in electronic medical records
- Perform charge nurse duties as needed (training and shadowing provided)
- Maintain patient and staff safety, and adapt to step-down unit responsibilities when required
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Prior transplant (solid organ) nursing experience or certification
- Bariatric surgery nursing experience
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Strong critical thinking, triage, and patient assessment skills
