Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Ohio (compact license accepted only if valid in Ohio)
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Experience with transplant and/or bariatric surgery patients preferred (transplant nurse or bariatric surgery nurse experience a plus)
• Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend/holiday
• Completion of required onboarding health screenings and background checks

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to pre-op and post-op solid organ transplant and bariatric surgery patients, as well as general med/surg patients
• Assess and monitor patient status, administer medications, and implement treatment plans
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including surgeons, transplant coordinators, pharmacists, and case managers
• Accurate and timely documentation of patient care in electronic medical records
• Perform charge nurse duties as needed (training and shadowing provided)
• Maintain patient and staff safety, and adapt to step-down unit responsibilities when required

Preferred Skills & Certifications

• Prior transplant (solid organ) nursing experience or certification
• Bariatric surgery nursing experience
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Strong critical thinking, triage, and patient assessment skills
