Telemetry RN Job Details
- Location: Hickory, NC 28601 (Hickory, Catawba County) – North Carolina nursing jobs
- Facility: Telemetry Unit (cardiac telemetry / step-down)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 13, 2026 – July 13, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour Nights (19:00 – 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Patient Ratio: 4:1
- Number of Beds: 24
- Dress Code: Any color scrubs
- Travel Candidate Requirement: Must reside 60 miles or more from Hickory, NC (travel nurse eligibility)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry RN experience (cardiac telemetry nurse preferred)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice or compact license as applicable
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher; BSN preferred
- Experience with LifePak, Zoll, and Masimo monitoring equipment
- Preferred: Experience with Cerner EHR (electronic health record)
- Willingness to float to IMCU, NPCU, and Surgical units as needed (step-down/IMCU/PCU experience a plus)
Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for cardiac telemetry patients, including chest pain, A-fib, CHF, pre/post cardiac catheterization (groin & radial), and VATS patients
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic status using LifePak, Zoll, Masimo, and telemetry monitoring systems
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately in Cerner EHR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (cardiology, respiratory therapy, case management) to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain compassionate, family-centered care for patients and families in a community hospital setting
- Participate in twice-monthly orientation and ongoing training to maintain competency in telemetry and cardiac care
- Float to IMCU, NPCU, or Surgical units on occasion to support staffing and patient needs
