Job Details
- Location: Marquette, MI 49855 (Upper Peninsula, Michigan travel nurse job)
- Facility: 225-bed specialty care hospital with premier imaging, surgery, and laboratory services
- Unit: Neuro/Ortho/Pediatrics (24 beds)
- Patient Population: All ages over 28 days, with primary focus on pediatric care
- Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00–07:00) — night shift pediatric RN
- Hours per Week: 36 (weekly guaranteed)
- Duration: 13 weeks (March 22, 2026 – June 21, 2026) — travel assignment
- Weekend Requirement: 3 weekends every 6 weeks
- Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse / Travel Nurse
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1800–$1890
Job Requirements
- Active RN license (state-specific licensure required for assignment)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience (2+ years preferred, pediatric experience highly desired)
- Ability to float to inpatient units as needed (flexible travel nurse)
- Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills
- Adherence to hospital dress code (Scrub color: Galaxy Blue)
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to pediatric, neuro, and orthopedic patients
- Manage trauma and post-operative ortho/neuro cases; perform clinical assessments and interventions
- Care for general pediatric patients (average 0–3 rooms) with attention to developmental needs
- Maintain assigned patient ratios (typical pediatric RN ratio 1:6)
- Document care using EHR systems (Paragon, transitioning to Cerner) — experience with electronic health records preferred
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, case management) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Follow hospital policies, safety protocols, and quality standards
