Job Summary
Join a dynamic healthcare team as a Travel Radiologic Technologist (Interventional Radiology / IR Technologist) in Fredericksburg, Virginia. This 13-week travel contract places you in a state-of-the-art Interventional Radiology department serving inpatient, ED, and outpatient populations. Ideal candidates have ARRT certification, IR/Angio procedures experience, and familiarity with PACS and EPIC.
Job Details
- Location: Fredericksburg, VA (22401) — Fredericksburg VA radiology jobs / travel radiology jobs
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 7, 2026 – July 7, 2026)
- Shift: Day shifts, 4x10-hour (07:00–17:30 or 07:30–18:00); rotating on-call and holidays
- Hours per Week: 40
- Patient Caseload: Approx. 25 patients daily
- Setting: Interventional Radiology Department — IR / Angio procedures
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of interventional radiology or related radiologic technology experience (IR Technologist / Radiology Tech)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required
- Valid Virginia state radiology license or Compact License (for Virginia radiologic technologist roles)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Experience with PACS, contrast administration, and biopsies
- Hands-on IR/Angio special procedures experience: stents, ablations, angioplasty, angiograms, paracentesis, thoracentesis, nephrostomy/nephogram, kyphoplasty, peripheral interventions, drainages, abdominal & pelvic procedures, upper/lower extremity studies, genitourinary and vascular studies, venous access, LP/myelogram
- Siemens imaging equipment experience preferred
- EPIC charting system experience preferred
- Seasonal influenza vaccine required (no exemptions)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of interventional radiology procedures for inpatient, ED, and outpatient populations as an IR Technologist
- Provide comprehensive pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient care and monitoring
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain radiology equipment (Siemens experience preferred)
- Collaborate closely with radiologists, midlevel providers, RNs, CNAs, and fellow technologists
- Maintain accurate patient records and procedure documentation using EPIC and PACS
- Participate in rotating holiday and on-call coverage as required
- Ensure strict compliance with radiation safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
- Complete up to 8 hours of orientation modules within 1 week of signing the contract
