• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Progressive care nursing / acute care
• Start Date: May 6, 2026
• End Date: August 5, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 – $2,130 (competitive pay for travel nursing jobs in North Carolina)

PCU RN Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the U.S.; compact license or North Carolina RN license preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or similar acute care/telemetry experience
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts
• Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and communication skills
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and medication administration
• Travel nursing experience is a plus but not required

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to adult patients in the Progressive Care Unit
• Continuously monitor and assess patient conditions, recognizing and responding to changes promptly (telemetry monitoring experience helpful)
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and according to provider orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—physicians, respiratory therapy, PT/OT, case management—to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, procedures, and post-discharge instructions
• Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Participate in handoffs and ensure continuity of care across shifts
