- Job Type: Travel Nursing / 13-week contract
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Progressive care nursing / acute care
- Start Date: May 6, 2026
- End Date: August 5, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 – $2,130 (competitive pay for travel nursing jobs in North Carolina)
PCU RN Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the U.S.; compact license or North Carolina RN license preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or similar acute care/telemetry experience
- BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts
- Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and communication skills
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and medication administration
- Travel nursing experience is a plus but not required
PCU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to adult patients in the Progressive Care Unit
- Continuously monitor and assess patient conditions, recognizing and responding to changes promptly (telemetry monitoring experience helpful)
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and according to provider orders
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—physicians, respiratory therapy, PT/OT, case management—to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, procedures, and post-discharge instructions
- Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Participate in handoffs and ensure continuity of care across shifts
