Psychiatric RN travel contract (Night Shift) — 13-week assignment in North Dartmouth, MA caring for child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in an acute inpatient psychiatric unit.

Join a dedicated behavioral health team at an acute inpatient hospital in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts. This 13-week travel nursing contract is an excellent opportunity for Psychiatric Registered Nurses (Psych RNs) who specialize in mental health nursing, substance use disorder care, and crisis intervention to provide compassionate, evidence-based care on the night shift.

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,870 – $1,970
• Role: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) — Travel Nurse, Night Shift
• Location: Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital, North Dartmouth, MA (02747) — Dartmouth, Massachusetts; South Coast MA healthcare job
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 13, 2026 – July 12, 2026)
• Shift: Nights, 8-hour shifts (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM), including every other weekend
• Hours per Week: 40
• Patient Population: Ages 5 through geriatric (Child & Adolescent Units; adult and geriatric behavioral health)
• Setting: Inpatient psychiatric unit / behavioral health facility

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience or behavioral health experience
• Experience working with child and adolescent populations preferred (pediatric psych experience a plus)
• Comfortable with night shifts and every other weekend schedule
• Strong communication, teamwork, and crisis intervention skills
• Competency in medication administration, patient assessments, and working with multidisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric nursing care to patients with mental health disorders, behavioral health needs, and substance use disorders
• Monitor patient progress and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (psychiatrists, social workers, therapists) to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients on the inpatient psychiatric unit
• Administer medications, complete nursing assessments, document interventions, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and family education to support recovery and discharge planning
• Participate in team meetings, care coordination, and adherence to facility policies for behavioral health and inpatient psychiatric nursing
