• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,640 - $1,730
• Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nurse (24 weeks)
• Location: On-site in Asheville, NC (28801)
• Unit: PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit), K Tower
• Number of Beds: 40
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Shift: 12-hour Nights (1:00 PM - 1:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 24 weeks (Start: 3/23/2026 – End: 9/7/2026)
• Scrub Colors: Surgical green or navy
• Documentation System: Cerner (electronic health record)
• Scheduling: 6-week schedules; 3 call shifts required within each 6 weeks
• Floating Policy: Float within peri-anesthesia (Endoscopy / PreOp / Phase II)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or state-specific as required)
• Minimum 1 year PACU or acute care nursing experience; PACU RN or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit experience preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Experience with NIH Stroke Scale
• Advanced skills in ventilator monitoring
• Trauma and pediatric PACU experience preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality post-anesthesia care for surgical patients in a busy 40-bed PACU
• Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia, including ventilator monitoring and airway management
• Perform PACU procedures for trauma and pediatric patients as needed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesia, surgeons, unit secretaries, and patient care techs
• Float to peri-anesthesia areas (Endoscopy, PreOp, Phase II) per unit needs
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Cerner EHR
• Participate in scheduled call shifts and adhere to staffing policies
