Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients in a 12-bed Neuroscience (Neuro) ICU
- Manage advanced critical care treatments and monitoring including CRRT, bedside EVDs, arterial line (A-line) monitoring, and hemodynamic management
- Care for post-thrombectomy, TPA, and post-neurosurgery patients with neurocritical care competencies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, pharmacists) to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Cerner (electronic medical record)
- Participate in self-scheduling and fulfill unit needs including weekend coverage
- Float to other ICU units or step-down units as required; flexible critical care nursing support
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience (neuro ICU experience strongly preferred)
- Active RN license in North Carolina or current Compact RN license accepted
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
- NIHSS certification preferred (neuro assessment skill)
- Experience with neurology post-thrombectomy and TPA patients, plus post-neurosurgery care
- Comfortable using Cerner EMR for documentation
- Able to float to other ICUs or step-down units as needed
- Adheres to unit dress code (navy blue)
