• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,620 – $1,700
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing job (13-week contract)
• Location: A leading hospital in Asheville, NC 28801 — Blue Ridge Mountains
• Unit: Mother/Baby (Postpartum) — Mother Baby unit, maternity nurse role
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Start Date: March 23, 2026
• End Date: June 22, 2026
• Weekend Requirement: Weekends required; no on-call shifts

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — eligible for NC licensure or compact license preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Mother/Baby (Postpartum) nursing experience — postpartum RN or maternity nurse experience
• Experience caring for patients on Magnesium Sulfate post-delivery preferred
• STABLE certification preferred
• Travel nursing experience is a plus
• Strong team player with a passion for teaching, mentoring, and supporting colleagues

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive postpartum care to mothers and newborns in a 34-bed unit with private couplet rooms
• Monitor and assess postpartum patients, including those receiving Magnesium Sulfate therapy
• Perform routine unit procedures such as circumcisions and newborn assessments
• Operate and manage Alaris pumps, bilirubin blankets/lights, and other common maternity equipment
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR — strong charting and clinical documentation skills
• Float to Labor & Delivery (L&D) and NICU as needed to provide clinical support and help with patient flow
• Maintain professional appearance in navy blue/white scrubs and uphold unit nursing standards
