Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,640 - $1,730 (Travel Nurse / ER RN)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Travel Assignment)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Location: Mission Hospital, Asheville, NC 28801 — Emergency Department (ED)
- Unit: Emergency Department (ER / ED)
- Number of Beds: 101
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 (medical), up to 7:1 (ED behavioral holds)
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year ER experience required (2 years of overall RN experience preferred)
- Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits/year) preferred
- Active RN license in the required state (state-specific license or compact RN where applicable)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS (ENPC within 90 days of hire)
- Strong teamwork mentality with flexibility to work across all ED areas
- Ability to coach colleagues and provide real-time feedback; strong communication skills (AIDET)
- Previous HCA (Hospital Corporation of America) experience preferred
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR system, Baxter pumps, and GE monitors is a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care in a fast-paced ED setting
- Triage, assess, and prioritize emergency patients; deliver timely interventions per department protocols
- Use advanced equipment including Baxter infusion pumps and GE patient monitors
- Document patient care accurately in Cerner EMR and maintain updated patient boards
- Collaborate with techs, unit clerks, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
- Float within all sections of the ED as staffing and patient needs require
- Adhere to hospital and department policies, dress code (navy scrubs), and attendance expectations
