Qualifications (Registered Nurse / LTAC RN Requirements)
- Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience; ICU or critical care RN background preferred
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact license accepted per state guidelines)
- BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- Comfortable managing ventilators and high-risk airways, including ET tubes (critical care / ventilator management)
- Experience with critical drips (Propofol, Fentanyl, Levophed, Precedex, Versed, Rituximab, Vasopressin)
- Wound care expertise, including care of complex wounds and wound vac experience
- Previous LTAC or select-unit experience highly desired
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care by following individualized nursing care plans
- Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop patient-centered care plans
- Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and direct patient care focused on recovery and discharge readiness
- Identify patient and family teaching needs and provide education to support successful transitions of care
- Communicate changes in patient status to the interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity and safety
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching beginning at admission
- Assume charge responsibilities as requested after orientation and contribute to unit efficiency and team building
- Maintain a safe patient care environment per hospital policies and regulatory standards
