Job Details — PICU Travel Nurse, Asheville, NC
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 - $1,770
- Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (Asheville nursing jobs / North Carolina travel nurse)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
- Shift: 12 Hour Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) — night shift PICU nurse
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse / Pediatric RN)
- Orientation: 4-hour hospital orientation followed by an 8-hour floor orientation shift
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active RN license (North Carolina or compact state) — NC RN or multistate compact preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent PICU nursing experience (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit experience required)
- BLS certification required
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced critical care environment
- Professionalism, strong communication, and teamwork skills for multidisciplinary pediatric care
- Compliance with facility dress code: navy, white, or a combination for RNs
Responsibilities — Pediatric ICU RN
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, interpret clinical data, administer medications, and perform nursing interventions as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate and support families throughout the patient’s stay, providing clear communication and compassionate guidance
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and uphold hospital standards and policies
- Participate in hospital orientation, ongoing education, and unit-based training to ensure best practices in pediatric critical care
