- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 – $1,770
- Location: Asheville, NC (28801) — travel nursing job, North Carolina nursing jobs
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) — night shift, PICU RN
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nurse (PICU)
- Orientation: 4-hour hospital orientation followed by an 8-hour floor shift
- Scrub Colors: RNs – navy, white, or a combination of both
Job Requirements
- Active RN license (North Carolina or compact state) — PICU Registered Nurse / Travel RN
- Minimum 1 year of recent PICU experience required (pediatric critical care nursing)
- BLS certification (AHA)
- PALS certification (AHA)
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced critical care environment
- Strong communication, teamwork, and family-centered care skills
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to pediatric patients in the intensive care unit
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and perform nursing interventions as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapists, and allied health) to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate and support families throughout the care process with clear communication and compassionate care
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital policies, PICU protocols, and patient safety standards
- Participate in orientation, ongoing education, and unit meetings as required
