Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact license accepted if applicable)
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of PCU/Stepdown experience; 15–18 months total RN experience preferred for travel nurses
• Experience with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, and IV pump/drip titration
• Comfort floating to MedSurg/Tele units as needed
• Previous travel nursing experience is a plus

Primary Responsibilities (PCU / Stepdown Nurse)

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to progressive care/stepdown patients.
• Monitor patient conditions using cardiac monitors and manage IV pumps and drips.
• Administer medications and titrate infusions per facility protocols (e.g., insulin, Cardizem, amiodarone).
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
• Support admissions, discharges, transfers, and routine patient care documentation.
• Float to MedSurg/Telemetry units as needed, caring for patients within your competency.
• Participate in holiday and weekend rotations as part of the staffing schedule.
• Complete charting using CPSI - Evident Thrive EMR system (experience preferred).
