Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for New York State
• Minimum 2 years recent Operating Room RN experience (cardiac OR or CVOR experience preferred)
• Ability to independently scrub and circulate complex adult cardiac cases
• BLS (American Heart Association) required
• ACLS (American Heart Association) required
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma center preferred
• Transplant, TAVR/TAVI, structural heart, VAD, ECMO experience preferred but not required

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate for complex adult cardiac surgeries including CABG, structural heart/TAVR, minimally invasive cardiac procedures, and heart failure interventions (VAD, ECMO, transplant)
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and multidisciplinary team members to deliver safe, high-quality perioperative care
• Maintain strict compliance with surgical safety, sterile technique, and infection control protocols
• Operate and troubleshoot advanced cardiac surgical equipment and instrumentation
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to adult cardiac surgical patients and their families

Preferred Skills & Certifications

• Perioperative Nursing Certification (CNOR) a plus
• Prior experience in cardiovascular OR (CVOR) or cardiothoracic surgery
• Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills in high-acuity settings
• Familiarity with TAVR/TAVI, transplant protocols, and advanced cardiac support devices
