Director of Nursing (Med/Surg) Travel RN position in Hollywood, Florida (33020) — lead clinical and administrative operations for an acute care hospital med/surg unit while on a 13-week travel nursing contract. • Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,250 - $3,420
• Location: Hollywood, Florida (33020) — local Florida nursing job / travel nursing opportunity
• Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel RN)
• Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
• Shift: 8 Hour Days (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM; some weekends may be required)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Setting: Med/Surg, Acute Care Hospital

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years recent Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or Clinical Nurse Leader experience in a hospital/acute care Med/Surg setting (LTAC/SNF experience preferred)
• Active Florida RN license or multi-state compact RN (must be attached to resume)
• ACLS & BLS certifications through the American Heart Association (attach to submission)
• Proven experience with evidence-based practice, clinical quality improvement, and regulatory compliance (CMS, Joint Commission)
• Strong nursing leadership, staff development, communication, and organizational skills
• Comfortable managing staffing, budgets, policy/procedure updates, and performance metrics

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily clinical and administrative operations of the Med/Surg nursing department as Director of Nursing / Travel RN leader
• Ensure each patient receives safe, high-quality care to attain or maintain the highest practicable well-being
• Advocate for patients, families, and staff; promote a patient-centered culture
• Lead orientation, continuing education, and professional development to maintain high standards of patient care
• Maintain and update nursing policies and procedures; prepare nursing supervisors and managers for successful leadership roles
• Integrate evidence-based practice into department goals and quality improvement initiatives; monitor performance metrics and outcomes
