Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) travel assignment in Artesia, NM (88210) — 13-week night shift role for experienced Emergency Department (ED) nurses with strong trauma and critical-care skills. - Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Role: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) / Emergency Department (ED) Nurse
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7pm–7am)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
- Start Date: March 30, 2026
- Care Setting: Acute care Emergency Room — 5-bed ER with 2 trauma bays
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend; may be asked to participate in holiday rotation
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience required — trauma and critical care experience strongly preferred
- Active RN license: New Mexico or compact (multistate) RN license accepted
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP, NIHSS
- Proficient with mixing and titrating critical drips (e.g., Amiodarone, Cardizem, Epinephrine, Insulin)
- Strong critical thinking, triage, and independent decision-making skills
- Experience from trauma Level 1 or Level 2 EDs accepted
- First-time travel nurses welcome — travel nurse and travel RN applicants encouraged to apply
- Completion of hospital orientation modules (approx. 20 hours) prior to floor assignment
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care across a wide range of diagnoses from minor injuries to major trauma
- Assess, triage, and manage patients in a small, fast-paced ED environment
- Mix, titrate, and monitor critical drips per protocol
- Read and interpret telemetry and 12-lead EKGs to guide clinical decisions
- Collaborate closely with ED physicians, techs, EMS, and interdisciplinary hospital staff to optimize patient flow
- Assist with EMS coordination, trauma activations, and rapid patient disposition
- Complete department orientation and required competency modules prior to clinical shifts
- Maintain professional appearance and compliance with dress code (navy blue scrubs; jackets without hoods)
