- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:30pm – 7:00am)
- Hours per Week: 36 (Guaranteed)
- Unit / Specialty: Med/Surg Stroke Stepdown (64 beds) – stroke nursing, medical-surgical care

Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience with stroke stepdown or similar step-down care
- Previous travel nursing experience required (Travel RN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York (NYS RN). All active RN licenses should be disclosed
- Current AHA BLS certification
- NIHSS certification (can be obtained prior to start)
- Skills checklist matching the stroke stepdown specialty
- Experience with EPIC EMR (electronic medical record) required
- Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics
- NURSYS report available for license verification
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with stroke, altered mental status, renal issues including dialysis, COPD, CHF, isolation precautions, pneumonia, pulmonary concerns, and general med/surg needs
- Perform clinical duties using specialty equipment such as IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes
- Monitor and manage stroke stepdown patients according to unit protocols and NIHSS guidelines
- Float to other units as required to support patient care and staffing needs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams — physicians, therapists, social work, and case management — to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC EMR and follow facility policies for infection control and patient safety
