Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1460 - $1540
• Location: Austin, TX 78704 (Austin nursing jobs / Austin healthcare)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: 34-bed Telemetry / Medical-Surgical / Surgical Oncology
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs

Qualifications & Requirements

• Active RN license (Texas or compact state) — required for travel nurse roles
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience
• Hands-on experience with cardiac telemetry monitoring and arrhythmia recognition
• Preferred: Chemotherapy Certification (for surgical oncology med administration) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and an outgoing, patient-centered approach

Responsibilities

• Provide modified total patient care for adult medical-surgical and surgical oncology patients
• Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry; respond to telemetry alarms and changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments including IV therapies and chemotherapy when certified
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including charge nurses and patient care technicians
• Document patient care accurately and timely in MediTech EMR
• Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients across young adult to geriatric populations
