This large, modern facility includes acute, trauma, CDU, psych, and super track care. Job Details – Emergency Room RN / Travel Nurse
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,100 - $2,210 (competitive travel nursing pay)
- Location: Utica, NY 13502 — Central New York / Adirondack Mountains
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Employment Type: Travel (Travel Nurse / Travel RN)
- Unit: Emergency Department (64 beds: acute, trauma, CDU, psych, super track)
Required Qualifications – Emergency Department RN
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including pediatric emergency nursing
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York (NURSYS verification required)
- Current certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC (TNCC must be in hand)
- Experience with EPIC EMR (electronic medical record) required
- Charge nurse capability highly preferred (ED charge experience)
- Skills checklist matching Emergency Department specialty
- Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics
Emergency Room RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced ED
- Assess, triage, and manage patients with common ED diagnoses: stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure
- Provide pediatric emergency care and trauma nursing interventions as needed
- Utilize specialty equipment including Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun
- Float to other units (CDU, psych, acute) as required by patient volume
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation using EPIC EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (MDs, APPs, respiratory therapy, radiology, lab) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including department dress code (navy blue scrubs)
