Job Details

• Position: PCU Registered Nurse (RN) / Travel RN – Transplant PCU
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
• Location: Columbus, Ohio – Zip 43210 (Columbus, OH; Ohio nursing jobs)
• Unit: 16 North – Abdominal Transplant PCU (kidney, liver, pancreas)
• Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30) – Travel nurse night shift
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (June 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026)
• Setting: Combined ICU/PCU (travelers will work PCU only)
• Patient Ratio: 3:1 (progressive care / stepdown staffing)
• Weekend Coverage: Every other or every third weekend
• Float: Required to float within the hospital organization

Qualifications & Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; progressive care/stepdown or PCU background strongly preferred
• Transplant, renal, or high-acuity medical patient experience preferred (Transplant RN experience a plus)
• Active Ohio RN License (compact or state license in hand at time of submission)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Epic electronic charting system experience required (Epic RN experience)
• Pyxis medication system experience preferred
• Ability to float to different units as needed within the hospital organization
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required (one from manager/director or formal leadership; Charge RN acceptable as second reference)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult abdominal transplant patients (kidney, liver, pancreas) in the Progressive Care Unit
• Manage post-procedure recovery and care for complex medical conditions (including kidney biopsy and paracentesis care)
• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias; deliver advanced cardiac monitoring in a stepdown setting
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, IV insulin protocols, and blood products per protocol
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, and ports; perform line maintenance and troubleshooting
• Provide advanced respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC) and collaborate with Respiratory Therapy
• Document accurately using Epic and manage medications with Pyxis
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
• Float to other units within the hospital organization as required
