Travel Med/Surg RN – Fort Wayne, IN | 13-week travel contract for experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurses with Epic charting and float experience. Join our healthcare team as a Travel Nurse delivering high-quality medical-surgical nursing care in a supportive hospital environment.

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,950 - $2,060
• Location: Fort Wayne, IN 46845 — Fort Wayne nursing jobs / Indiana travel nurse opportunity
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
• Hours: 36 hours per week (12-hour day shifts, 7am–7pm)
• Schedule: 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks
• Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site
• Dress Code: Caribbean Blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1.5 years of Med/Surg (Medical-Surgical) experience at Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary care
• At least 1 year of Med/Surg experience in a large hospital (600+ beds)
• Active Indiana RN license or valid Compact RN license
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Epic electronic health record experience (Epic charting)
• Proven ability to float to other medical units as a Central Registry / float nurse

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for medical-surgical patients with diverse diagnoses including chronic illness, GI disorders, infections, neurological and behavioral health conditions
• Perform thorough assessments, develop individualized care plans, and coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams
• Use clinical equipment such as IV pumps, wound vacs, feeding pumps/tubes, chest tubes, heating/cooling pads, and telemetry monitors
• Manage continuous infusions including heparin and insulin drips, IV therapy, and assist with bedside procedures (colonoscopy support, thoracentesis/paracentesis, bronchoscopy, minor surgical assists)
• Float to areas of greatest need across medical units as a Central Registry/float nurse
• Maintain typical patient ratios of 1:5–6 while ensuring patient safety and quality outcomes
• Complete Jump Start orientation including hospital, nursing, and Epic training prior to assignment
