Job Details

• Job Type: Travel Nurse – Med/Surg RN, Central Registry Float
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
• Location: Fort Wayne, IN 46845 (Indiana nursing jobs / Fort Wayne healthcare)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7pm–7am)
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Schedule: 3 weekend shifts in every 4 weeks
• Unit: Central Registry Float pool — float to medical, surgical, and telemetry units
• Dress Code: Caribbean Blue scrubs

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 1.5 years of acute care (Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary) experience
• At least 1 year of Med/Surg experience at a large hospital (600+ beds) — Med/Surg RN or acute care RN experience preferred
• Active Indiana RN license or valid compact RN license (travel RN eligibility)
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Proficiency with Epic charting and electronic health records (EHR)
• Ability to float across units and work in a central registry/float pool

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care for patients with chronic illnesses, GI conditions, infections, neurological issues, and behavioral health needs
• Perform comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and coordinate interprofessional communication
• Manage telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, heparin and insulin drips, feeding tubes, and wound care (including wound VACs)
• Use clinical equipment such as IV pumps, feeding pumps, chest tubes, and telemetry monitors
• Assist with and support procedures including colonoscopies, thoracentesis/paracentesis, bronchoscopy, minor surgeries, and biopsies
• Maintain patient ratios of approximately 1:5–1:6 depending on unit acuity
• Complete Jump Start orientation including hospital orientation, nursing orientation, and Epic training
