Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,590 – $1,680

- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/11/2026 – End: 8/10/2026)
- Shift: 12 Hour Days (07:00–19:00), every other weekend required
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit / Specialty: Post Surgical, Medical Surgical (18 beds) — medical-surgical nursing, acute care
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Electronic Health Record: Cerner (Cerner EHR experience required)
- Orientation: Twice monthly
- Job Type: Travel Nurse / Contract — RN travel assignment, Med/Surg RN
Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience in a medical-surgical or acute care setting
- Active NC or compact RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA preferred)
- Cerner EHR experience required
- IV competency and familiarity with Baxter IV pumps, PCA pumps, and Kangaroo feeding pumps
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN)
- Ability to float to surgical, neuro, and intermediate units as needed
- Preferred: Orthopedic/post-surgical experience and prior charge experience
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy post-surgical Med/Surg unit
- Manage a patient assignment of 1:6 while delivering compassionate, efficient care and promoting positive patient outcomes
- Perform assessments, administer medications, manage IVs, and operate Baxter IV pumps, SCD machines, Kangaroo feeding pumps, and PCA pumps
- Document patient care, interventions, and care plans accurately using Cerner EHR
- Care for patients with common diagnoses including COPD exacerbation, GI bleed, diabetic complications, wound care, pancreatitis, sickle cell crisis, end-of-life/hospice care, falls, weakness, sepsis, and infection
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for care coordination and safe patient transitions
- Float to surgical, neuro, and intermediate units when needed and support unit-based quality and safety initiatives
- Advocate for patients and contribute to a positive, team-oriented clinical environment
