• Assignment Length: 12 weeks
• Shift: 4x12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15); will consider 3x12s
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Medical/Surgical (6th Floor)
• Patient Ratio: 1:6–1:7
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: May float within scope to like units/sister facilities
• Charting / EMR: Epic electronic health record

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required (travel nurse credentialing preferred)
• Active South Carolina RN license or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license in hand prior to start
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification required
• Telemetry experience with ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias preferred
• Must complete all assigned orientation modules prior to start date
• Attendance at staff meetings and unit-based education required
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality clinical care to adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including acute pain, CHF, COPD, diabetes, post-surgical care, infectious diseases, and more
• Manage patient assignments at a 1:6–1:7 ratio during night shifts while maintaining safety and clinical standards
• Provide telemetry monitoring, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to cardiac events per protocol
• Perform specialty Med/Surg skills including colostomy/ileostomy care, pre/post hemodialysis support, feeding tube management, isolation precautions, and wound care
• Document patient care accurately in Epic and communicate care plans with interdisciplinary teams
• Collaborate with Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to similar units as needed to support facility operations and patient flow
• Participate in emergency response and surge plans during hurricane season (June–November)
