- Position: Radiologic Technologist / X-ray Technologist / Rad Tech (Travel)
- Location: Fredericksburg, VA (22401) — Virginia radiology job
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,260 - $2,430
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 25, 2026)
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Shift: 8-hour shifts, 5 shifts per week, Monday – Friday (between 7:30am – 5:30pm EST)
- Setting: Ambulatory Surgery Center — Days, No call / No holidays
- Employment Type: Travel assignment / contract radiology
- On-site: Yes (OR and portable imaging required)
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Completion of formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- Current ARRT certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- Virginia radiologic technologist license or ability to obtain prior to start
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an X-ray Technologist / Radiographer
- Experience using C-arm and/or O-arm within the past 8 months
- Comfortable working in the OR, with portable imaging, and in ambulatory surgery settings
- Ability to move or lift patients and stand for extended periods as required
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills
- Patient, compassionate, and a collaborative team player
Key Responsibilities
- Verify patient identity and review physician orders prior to imaging procedures (dual patient identifiers)
- Operate radiology equipment to capture diagnostic images of bones, tissues, and organs per physician orders
- Perform intraoperative imaging with C-arm/O-arm and portable x-ray equipment in the OR
- Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and ensure patient safety and comfort
- Position patients appropriately, including assisting and lifting patients with limited mobility
- Keep patient radiation dose as low as reasonably achievable while producing high-quality diagnostic images
- Observe and document patient status; address age-specific needs across the lifespan
- Maintain accurate patient records in the EMR and ensure images are properly routed to PACS
- Identify and promptly report malfunctioning or damaged imaging equipment to management
