• Position: Radiologic Technologist / X-ray Technologist / Rad Tech (Travel)
• Location: Fredericksburg, VA (22401) — Virginia radiology job
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,260 - $2,430
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 25, 2026)
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift: 8-hour shifts, 5 shifts per week, Monday – Friday (between 7:30am – 5:30pm EST)
• Setting: Ambulatory Surgery Center — Days, No call / No holidays
• Employment Type: Travel assignment / contract radiology
• On-site: Yes (OR and portable imaging required)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Completion of formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
• Current ARRT certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• Virginia radiologic technologist license or ability to obtain prior to start
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an X-ray Technologist / Radiographer
• Experience using C-arm and/or O-arm within the past 8 months
• Comfortable working in the OR, with portable imaging, and in ambulatory surgery settings
• Ability to move or lift patients and stand for extended periods as required
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills
• Patient, compassionate, and a collaborative team player

Key Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and review physician orders prior to imaging procedures (dual patient identifiers)
• Operate radiology equipment to capture diagnostic images of bones, tissues, and organs per physician orders
• Perform intraoperative imaging with C-arm/O-arm and portable x-ray equipment in the OR
• Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and ensure patient safety and comfort
• Position patients appropriately, including assisting and lifting patients with limited mobility
• Keep patient radiation dose as low as reasonably achievable while producing high-quality diagnostic images
• Observe and document patient status; address age-specific needs across the lifespan
• Maintain accurate patient records in the EMR and ensure images are properly routed to PACS
• Identify and promptly report malfunctioning or damaged imaging equipment to management
