Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840 – $1,940 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Location: Clyde, NC 28721 (Great Smoky Mountains region; near Asheville, NC)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (March 30, 2026 – June 29, 2026)
• Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN), Progressive Care Unit / Cardiac Telemetry (PCU / Step-down)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Unit Size: 22 beds (PCU, cardiac focus)
• Patient Ratio: 4:1 (telemetry/step-down)
• Electronic Health Record: Paragon EHR
• Scrub Color: Navy

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (compact or state-specific as required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent step-down, PCU, or ICU nursing experience, preferably with cardiac/telemetry patients
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NIHSS required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) minimum; BSN preferred
• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac patient care experience (post-cardiac cath lab, cardioversion)
• Ability to float to other units and adapt to variable patient acuity
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented, flexible attitude

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for adult cardiac and telemetry patients in a progressive care / step-down environment
• Monitor cardiac patients using telemetry and respond to rhythm changes and alarms promptly
• Care for post-cardiac cath lab and post-cardioversion patients, including assessment and intervention
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care in a fast-paced PCU setting
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiology teams, and interdisciplinary staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Paragon EHR
• Participate in bi-weekly orientation and ongoing unit education to support clinical competency
• Adhere to facility policies, professional nursing standards, and dress code
