Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,100 - $2,210
- Location: Utica, NY 13502 (Upstate New York travel nursing)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 1, 2026)
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour shifts (10:30 AM – 11:00 PM)
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN (Emergency Department)
- Unit: Emergency Department – 64 beds (trauma, acute, super track, CDU, psych, triage)
Required Qualifications (Emergency Department RN / ER RN)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department (ED RN) experience, including pediatric emergency care
- Previous travel nursing experience in the Emergency Department required
- Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license (NURSYS verification)
- Current AHA certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification required
- EPIC EMR experience required (documentation and charting in EPIC)
- Completed skills checklist matching Emergency Department specialty
- Charge nurse capability and leadership experience highly preferred
- Ability to float to other units (CDU, psych, trauma bays) as needed
- Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics
- Up-to-date resume documenting relevant ED/trauma experience
Key Responsibilities (ED RN / Travel Nurse)
- Provide triage and bedside nursing care for patients presenting with stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction (MI), cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, and other acute conditions
- Manage and titrate specialty drips and critical care medications (pressors, vasodilators, anti-arrhythmics, sedation, TNK, heparin, insulin)
- Operate specialty emergency equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun during resuscitation and post-arrest care
- Perform trauma resuscitation, rapid assessment, and pediatric to geriatric emergency interventions
- Participate in charge nurse duties and coordinate patient flow when assigned
- Float to other department areas as needed to support the care team
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC EMR, following hospital and regulatory standards
- Adhere to department policies including dress code (navy blue scrubs) and safety protocols
