• Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse / Travel RN
• Location: Hickory, NC (28601) — North Carolina travel nursing job
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00–07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric (Med/Surg)
• Unit Size: 17–18 beds
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner (Cerner EHR experience required)
• Employment Type: Travel, On-site

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (North Carolina or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience — previous travel nurse or Med/Surg experience preferred
• Experience with Cerner EHR required
• Ability to float to all areas of the facility as needed
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Comfortable caring for adult and geriatric populations with common diagnoses such as pneumonia, COPD, CHF, CVA, and cancer

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg setting
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and document in Cerner
• Monitor and document patient progress using Cerner EHR
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, case management) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other units within the facility as needed to support staffing
