Travel RN Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse / Travel RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Savannah, GA (zip 31419). This opportunity is for a PCU RN to work in the ER Holding Unit (Stepdown) at a busy Level 3 Trauma Center. Ideal candidates will have telemetry experience, MEDITECH charting skills, and strong stepdown/critical care nursing background.

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840 – $1,940

• Shift: 12-hour days
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Based on department needs
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs
• Charting System: MEDITECH (telemetry documentation)
• Trauma Level: Level 3 Trauma Center

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years recent PCU experience OR 1 year PCU experience plus 1+ years of TELE/ER/ICU experience
• Must have completed at least 1 previous travel assignment (travel nurse experience preferred)
• Active RN license (Georgia or compact state) — compact RN licensure accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• References from recent assignments
• Compliance with 100-mile radius rule (copy of driver's license required for submission)

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the PCU ER Holding Unit (Stepdown)
• Manage patient ratios of approximately 1:4–5, adjusted for acuity
• Care for patients with cardiac, neuro, ortho, and critical care diagnoses
• Monitor and save telemetry strips using Spacelabs monitors (telemetry experience required)
• Draw labs as needed (no ER phlebotomy responsibility)
• Collaborate closely with respiratory therapy, imaging, and transport technicians
• Complete department-specific orientation during the first week of assignment
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in MEDITECH and adhere to unit protocols
