Travel Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity in Holyoke, MA — 13-week inpatient behavioral health contract on nights (Cerner EHR). Join our behavioral health hospital and provide compassionate psychiatric nursing across adult, geriatric, and pediatric units in the scenic Pioneer Valley.

• Position: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Psychiatric RN / Behavioral Health RN) — Travel Nursing
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
• Location: Holyoke, MA 01040 (Holyoke, Massachusetts / Pioneer Valley)
• Setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health (Adult, Geriatric, Pediatric Units)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/4/2026 – End: 8/3/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) — Night Shift Psychiatric RN
• Hours per Week: 36 (every other weekend required)
• Float Requirements: Yes — must be able to float across units
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in an inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health setting (Psychiatric RN experience)
• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license — MA license or compact state acceptable per facility policy
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Nursing Diploma from an accredited program
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS preferred
• Comfortable providing care to adult, geriatric, and pediatric mental health populations
• Ability to float between units and work flexible inpatient psychiatric schedules
• Experience with Cerner EHR is a plus

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary treatment teams
• Administer medications, monitor clinical status, and document care accurately in Cerner
• Perform crisis intervention, de-escalation, and therapeutic communication for patients with schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, anxiety, and other behavioral health diagnoses
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians, nursing supervisors, and team members; participate in handoffs and shift reports
• Participate in discharge planning and coordination of aftercare resources to support patient transitions
• Maintain assigned patient ratios (typically 1:8; lower ratios on geriatric and pediatric units)
