Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,830 - $1,930
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN — 13-week contract
• Location: Brooklyn, Maryland (21225) — Baltimore area / Maryland nursing jobs
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D) — maternity nurse / perinatal nursing
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 19, 2026 – August 18, 2026)
• Shift: Nights, 3x12 hours (18:50 - 07:20); 36 hours/week
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Call Coverage: 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
• Float: Required to mother/baby unit and scrub as backup

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (3 years preferred)
• Active RN license in Maryland or a compact state (Registered Nurse)
• Current BLS, NRP, and C-EFM (NCC certified) and STABLE required at time of application
• ACLS certification preferred
• Scrub experience preferred; first-time travel nurses accepted
• Ability to float to mother/baby and scrub as needed (cross-coverage / clinical support)
• Experience with Cerner EHR/charting preferred
• Two supervisor references required
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to laboring mothers and newborns, including management of high-risk deliveries and obstetric emergencies
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries; perform scrub duties as needed
• Administer medications and therapies (antihypertensives, anticoagulation, magnesium sulfate, etc.) according to protocol
• Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using EFM and IUPC; provide appropriate fetal surveillance and documentation
• Perform newborn assessments, stabilization, and support breastfeeding/lactation initiatives
• Manage postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and other obstetric emergencies with interdisciplinary teams
• Accurate, timely documentation in Cerner (EHR), handoffs, and participation in interdisciplinary rounds
• Adhere to infection control, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols
