- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:30am), 3 shifts per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,290 – $2,410
- Unit: Pediatric ICU (mixed CVPICU & PICU), 25 beds
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Schedule: Every other weekend & some holidays required

Work in a state-of-the-art pediatric hospital in Madison, WI with a collaborative multidisciplinary team. Ideal for experienced PICU RNs, CVPICU nurses, and travel nurses seeking high-acuity pediatric critical care experience including ECMO, CRRT, and transplant care.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years recent acute care RN experience in a high-acuity PICU or CVPICU (within the last 3 years)
- Strong pediatric ICU and cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) experience; general cardiac experience required
- Level II trauma required; Level I trauma preferred
- EPIC charting experience required
- Current WI RN or compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
- AHA BLS and PALS certifications required
- Ability to pass a Telemetry test prior to start (strict pass/fail criteria)
- First-time travel nurses accepted with 3 years of experience in a high-acuity hospital
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered); COVID-19 vaccine not required
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver family-centered, comprehensive care to critically ill pediatric patients, including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and transplant needs
- Manage and monitor patients requiring advanced therapies such as ECMO, CRRT, VAD, and ventilator support
- Perform and interpret telemetry, arterial blood gases, and manage complex medication regimens (antiarrhythmics, vasopressors, etc.)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and social services
- Float to NICU and general pediatric care units as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC
- Participate in rapid response and code situations as needed
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families
