Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) – Madison, WI: 13-week travel nursing assignment at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center. Requires 2+ years ED experience, travel nursing experience, and active WI RN or compact license.
Job Details
- Location: Madison, WI 53792
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (travel nursing assignment)
- Start Dates: 5/4/2026, 5/18/2026, or 6/1/2026
- Shifts: 3x12-hour shifts per week (Night: 19:00–07:30 or Mid: 15:00–03:30); 12's and 8's as needed
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend & Holiday Rotation: Required
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,090–$2,200
- Setting: Level I Trauma Center, 67-room Emergency Department (adult & pediatric)
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN / ER RN) experience caring for adult and pediatric patients within the last 3 years
- Travel nursing experience required (travel RN / ER travel nurse)
- Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only), and TNCC
- Epic EMR (Epic charting) experience required
- Must pass a telemetry test prior to start (strict pass/fail criteria)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted); COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Previous charge nurse experience and Level I Trauma experience preferred
Responsibilities – Emergency Department RN / ER RN
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics in a fast-paced ED setting
- Perform triage, rapid assessment, and treatment for acute and critical conditions (trauma, cardiac, stroke)
- Administer emergency medications, manage ventilated patients, and support resuscitations
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including ED physicians, respiratory therapists, and rapid response teams
- Float to East Madison Hospital Emergency Department as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR
- Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday rotations and adhere to hospital policies and safety standards
