Job Details
- Location: Madison, WI 53792 — Madison, Wisconsin; great outdoor activities, lakes, and a vibrant healthcare community
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Dates: 5/18/2026, 6/1/2026, or 5/4/2026
- Shifts: 3x12-hour shifts per week (Night: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM or Mid: 3:00 PM – 3:30 AM); 36 hours/week
- Weekend & Holiday Rotation: Required
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,090 – $2,200
- Healthcare Setting: Busy Emergency Department serving >60,000 patients annually; Level I/II Trauma Center experience valued
Required Qualifications – ER RN / Emergency Department RN
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN (ER RN / ED RN) experience caring for both adult and pediatric patients within the last 3 years
- Travel nursing experience required (previous travel nurse assignments preferred)
- Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only), and TNCC required
- Epic (Epic EMR) charting experience required
- Telemetry competency: must pass a telemetry test prior to start (strict pass/fail)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Previous charge nurse experience and Level I/II Trauma Center experience preferred
Responsibilities – Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
- Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to a diverse population in a high-volume Emergency Department
- Triage, assess, and implement interventions for emergent conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and behavioral health emergencies
- Administer emergency medications, manage ventilated patients, and perform advanced life support as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: ED physicians, respiratory therapists, social workers, rapid response and specialty teams
- Document comprehensive patient care using Epic for accurate charting and care coordination
- Float to other EDs within the hospital system as required
- Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday rotations
