Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750 - $1,840
• Location: Milwaukee, WI 53215 — Milwaukee healthcare jobs / Wisconsin travel nursing
• Setting: Level III Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Magnet Designation, Primary Stroke Center
• Contract Duration: 11 weeks (Start: 5/4/2026 – End: 7/18/2026)
• Shift: 8-hour day shifts (variable start times between 6:00 AM–7:00 AM)
• Average Hours Per Week: 32
• Weekend Rotation: On call 1 weekend every 5 weeks & 4 weeknights per 5 weeks
• Holiday Rotation: 1 holiday on call per contract
• On Call Response: 30-minute response time required

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room RN experience required (perioperative nursing, OR experience)
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
• Experience with ophthalmology (cataract, retinal), orthopedic (carpal tunnel), and general surgery (breast/plastics) procedures
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic charting, Alaris infusion pumps, and Pyxis medication systems
• Ability to respond to on-call within 30 minutes

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, 1:1 patient care in the operating room as a Surgical Nurse / OR RN
• Assist with ophthalmology, orthopedic, and general surgical procedures as a Perioperative RN
• Collaborate with charge nurse, OR supervisor, and unit manager to optimize patient outcomes
• Utilize EPIC for charting and maintain accurate perioperative documentation
• Participate in scheduled on-call rotations and maintain required response time
• Follow hospital protocols including scrub attire, sterile technique, and infection control standards
