Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,490 – $2,670
  • Location: Hyannis, MA 02601 — Cape Cod, Massachusetts (Hyannis location; local housing and travel support may be available)
  • Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (6/22/2026 – 9/19/2026)
  • Hours: 40 hours/week
  • Shift: 8 Hour Days (Possible shifts: 7:30am–4pm, 8am–4:30pm, 9am–5:30pm, 9:30am–6pm; occasional Saturdays 8am–4pm)
  • Setting: Outpatient mammography and bone density services at a local healthcare facility

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in mammography and radiologic technology (travel radiology experience a plus)
  • Graduate of a JCERT-accredited Radiography Program
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); ARRT Mammography credential or documented mammography training strongly preferred
  • Current Massachusetts State license for Radiology and Mammography
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Proficiency in 3D Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) and 2D Full-Field Digital Mammography (FFDM)
  • Advanced-level ARRT Bone Density Operator certification preferred (DEXA/Bone Densitometry)
  • Completion of required didactic and/or clinical training in Digital Breast Tomosynthesis and Full-Field Digital Mammography
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Willingness to become proficient in bone density exams and maintain MQSA-required competency

Responsibilities

  • Perform screening and diagnostic mammographic exams to detect breast abnormalities and cancer while maintaining patient safety and comfort
  • Conduct bone density (DEXA) examinations as needed and maintain accurate bone densitometry records
  • Prepare exam rooms and mammography/DEXA equipment; complete quality assurance (QA) checks and MQSA compliance documentation
  • Operate mammography equipment, adjust controls, optimize image quality, and process images using PACS or vendor software
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and communicate image issues to radiologists and supervisors
  • Review requisitions and radiologist orders, clarify orders when necessary, and coordinate accurate coding and billing information
  • Collect and verify patient history, clarify histories for accuracy, and document appropriately in the medical record
  • Provide patient education on mammography procedures, results processes, and follow-up expectations
  • Refer patients to nurse practitioners or radiologists for further evaluation when indicated
  • Maintain inventory and supplies for mammography and bone density operations and report equipment malfunctions for timely repair
  • Participate in continuing education, maintain ARRT and Massachusetts licensing compliance, and stay current with radiation protection and positioning techniques
  • Maintain patient confidentiality, ethical standards, and provide compassionate, patient-centered care
  • Contribute to a culture of service excellence with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
