• Job Title: Hospital CT Technologist / CT Tech (Computed Tomography Technologist)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,030 – $2,190
• Location: Rockford, Illinois (61114) – Rockford, IL CT tech jobs
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 3 x 12-hour rotating shifts per week (8:30–21:00 or 10:00–23:30)
• Rotations: Weekend, holiday, and on-call rotations required
• Setting: Acute care hospital – diagnostic imaging / radiology department

Job Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program or equivalent radiologic technology education
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on CT experience as a CT Technologist or Computed Tomography Technologist
• ARRT Radiography registration required (RT(R))
• ARRT Computed Tomography registration required (ARRT CT)
• IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required
• Approved CPR or BLS certification required
• Experience with contrast administration, CT protocols, and patient positioning preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform computed tomography (CT) procedures and related diagnostic imaging techniques to produce high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation
• Administer x-radiation and contrast media safely and in accordance with departmental protocols and ARRT guidelines
• Prepare and educate patients for CT exams, provide clear instructions, and reduce patient anxiety during imaging procedures
• Operate CT imaging equipment, scanners, and accessories to complete procedures efficiently and safely
• Position and immobilize patients to optimally demonstrate anatomic areas of interest for diagnostic quality
• Maintain aseptic technique and intravenous access as needed for contrast-enhanced CT studies
• Initiate basic life support and follow emergency protocols when necessary (BLS)
• Provide patient education and on-the-job instruction to students and partners in the radiology department
• Manage inventory, supplies, and equipment checks for the assigned CT area
• Follow universal protocol, standard precautions, and verify appropriate patient identifiers for safety
• Apply principles of patient safety during all aspects of procedures, including assisting and transporting patients
