Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience required — emergency nursing, trauma nursing, or critical care background preferred
• Active RN license (state of practice) required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP, and NIHSS
• Proficient in mixing and titrating critical drips (e.g., Amiodarone, Cardizem, Epinephrine, Insulin)
• Strong critical thinking, independent decision-making, and trauma assessment skills
• Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 trauma ED preferred; first-time travel nurses welcome
• Completion of required hospital modules prior to start (approx. 20 hours)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population, including trauma, STEMI, stroke, and oil field-related injuries
• Assess, triage, and manage patients in a 5-bed ER with 2 trauma bays
• Mix and titrate critical drips and interpret telemetry and 12-lead EKGs
• Collaborate closely with ED physicians, CNAs, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff
• Facilitate EMS coordination, patient throughput, and transfer arrangements as needed
• Perform lab draws, manage respiratory equipment, and provide respiratory treatments
• Adhere to hospital protocols, dress code (navy blue scrubs, jackets without hoods), and departmental policies
• Participate in holiday rotation and flexible scheduling to support departmental needs
