CT Technologist Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,340 - $2,510
• Location: Peoria, IL 61637 (Central Illinois)
• Setting: Acute care hospital – Radiology / CT Department (Level 1 Trauma Center)
• Contract Duration: 20 weeks (Start: 5/4/2026 – End: 9/21/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM start), 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend (Fri/Sat)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Dress Code: Solid color scrubs or prints

CT Tech Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as a CT Technologist in a fast-paced, high-acuity or Level 1 trauma environment
• Active Illinois CT technologist license or verification that state application has been initiated
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification – CT modality preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) certification required
• Experience with GE CT scanners preferred; strong CT imaging skills
• Previous travel technologist experience and Level 1 trauma exposure strongly preferred
• Proficient in starting IVs for contrast-enhanced CT studies
• Comfortable using Epic EMR for patient documentation
• Negative drug screen required prior to start

CT Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform basic and advanced CT imaging exams for trauma, emergency, inpatient, and outpatient patients
• Operate and optimize GE CT scanners for high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety
• Prepare patients for CT studies, start IVs for contrast administration, and monitor patient status
• Collaborate with radiologists, ED clinicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams in a high-volume trauma center
• Maintain accurate patient records and imaging logs using Epic EMR and PACS
• Comply with hospital policies including dress code, radiation safety, and drug-free workplace requirements
• Participate in department orientation, competency validation, and ongoing training as required
