Top Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the U.S.
  • Minimum 2 years recent bedside clinical experience—Med/Surg experience preferred
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (required prior to first shift)
  • Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and patient teaching skills

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Active RN license (compact license accepted where applicable)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA—required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)—required
  • Minimum of 2 years recent, direct patient care experience at the bedside
  • Experience in Med/Surg, telemetry, step-down, or related specialties preferred
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all Med/Surg patients within 8 hours of admission
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching beginning on the day of admission
  • Communicate changes in patient status to providers and the care team to ensure continuity and patient safety
  • Supervise and provide direction to LPNs, CNAs, and orientees as assigned
  • Promote a safe clinical environment by following hospital safety protocols and policies
  • Participate in team-building activities and contribute positively to unit culture
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after successful orientation
