Job Details
- Location: Frankfort, KY 40601 (Frankfort, Kentucky travel nursing)
- Job Type: Travel Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry RN / Cardiac Telemetry Nurse
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), three shifts per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,640 – $1,730
- Setting: 46-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Magnet hospital
- Patient Ratios: 4:1 or 5:1
- Scheduling: Every other weekend required
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital setting; Progressive Care, telemetry, or ICU experience preferred (telemetry RN / progressive care nurse)
- Active Kentucky RN license or valid multi-state Compact RN license (Kentucky nursing jobs eligibility)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Current NIH Stroke Scale certification (must be renewed annually)
- Proficiency in telemetry and EKG interpretation, post-PCI care, and management of cardiac/anti-arrhythmic IV infusions
- Experience with CPAP/BiPAP management, port access, and therapeutic phlebotomy
- Preferred: experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vacs, drains, post-dialysis assessment, central lines, and blood transfusions
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems; experience documenting in Meditech Expanse is a plus
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to PCU patients in a 46-bed unit as a travel RN or staff RN
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage cardiac and anti-arrhythmic IV infusions, and provide post-PCI care (cardiac telemetry nurse duties)
- Perform and assist with procedures such as BiPAP, therapeutic phlebotomy, and physician-led paracentesis
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including RNs, PCTs, nurse externs, and clinical nurse coordinators
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse and maintain clear clinical communication
- Float as needed to 3 South (post-surgical/med-surg) or to PCU for telemetry overflow
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Engage in a positive, team-oriented culture with strong interdisciplinary communication and support (nursing excellence and Magnet hospital culture)
