PACU Registered Nurse (Travel RN) – Madison, WI: 13-week travel assignment at a local hospital. Require 2+ years PACU/recovery RN experience, Epic charting, and current WI or compact RN license. Competitive travel RN pay.

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,120 - $2,230 (Competitive travel RN pay)
- Location: Madison, WI 53718 — Wisconsin nursing jobs / Madison healthcare jobs
- Facility: Local hospital (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit / PACU)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Shift: Day/Evening, Monday – Friday; 10 hour shifts (PACU open 07:00 – 20:00)

PACU Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of acute care PACU / Recovery Room RN experience within the last 3 years (post-anesthesia care & perioperative nursing)
- Travel RN experience required
- Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting experience required
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
- AHA ACLS and BLS certifications required; PALS preferred
- Ability to pass a telemetry test prior to start (identify lethal rhythms; minimum 80% score)
- Experience in community hospital and Trauma Level I/II preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
PACU / Recovery RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
- Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia, including airway assessment and extubation
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy, including vasopressors and blood products
- Care for ventilated patients and assist in ventilator management as needed
- Interpret and communicate lab values and arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Document care and maintain accurate patient records using Epic (EHR)
- Float to other units as required based on staffing (perioperative, med-surg support)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and surgical teams
- Adhere to strict infection control practices and isolation precautions
- Pass a pre-start telemetry exam (identify lethal rhythms and achieve 80% or higher)
