Pediatric PACU RN – Travel Nursing Contract in Morgantown, WV. 13-week role for experienced Pediatric RN with PALS, ACLS, and BLS.

Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 – $2,370 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Location: Morgantown, WV (Zip: 26506) — Pediatric RN jobs Morgantown, West Virginia
• Setting: Pediatric PACU / Post Anesthesia Care Unit
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (travel contract)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift: Rotating 10-hour shifts (2100–0730 and 1100–2130)
• Call Requirements: 16–24 hours/month (self-scheduled); 8-hour summer holiday call; 1-hour response time
• Orientation: 2 days unit-specific orientation

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years pediatric PACU or pre/post-op nursing experience
• Active RN license (compact or state as required)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred (Epic charting)
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips (cardiac monitoring)
• Strong pre/post-op pediatric nursing skills; pediatric experience strongly preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric patients during pre-op and post-op phases
• Assess and monitor patients in Phase 1 and Phase 2 PACU with 1:1 and 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios
• Manage care in pre-op holding areas (1:3–5 nurse-to-patient ratio)
• Respond to call requirements and provide timely bedside care
• Document accurately in EPIC EMR and maintain thorough perioperative records
• Collaborate with surgical teams, perioperative care assistants, and multidisciplinary staff
• Interpret cardiac strips and respond to hemodynamic changes
• Assist with common pediatric surgical cases: T&A, BVTs, gastroscopies, appendectomies, urology, orthopedics
